How to Start A Business That You Never Want to Sell- Insights from Jensen Huang's Stanford Interview

This week I watched an interview the CEO of NVIDIA, Jensen Huang, did at Stanford University. I believe the interview is worth watching for anyone interested in starting a business they wish to operate for the rest of their life. Jensen provides some good insights on what goes into creating a company that inspires its founders and is important to society. His journey challenges us to examine the borders we create in our minds between what is possible and impossible.

I was drawn to this interview because I am currently building my own company, and unless God says otherwise, I want to be part of this company for the rest of my life. I don't want to start a business solely with a profit motive, and over time, the money rolls in along with boredom and fatigue. I want to be like a Warren Buffett who started investing at 11 years old and is still investing today at 93, like a Jensen Huang who started NVIDIA 31 years ago and is still actively running the company, or like the famous artists who still make art well into their "supposed to be retired" years. I believe an interesting life involves using our limited days to display the fingerprint God gave us, and entrepreneurs can do this by creating purpose-filled, important companies.

Below is the full interview. Watch it, and feel free to email me if you want to discuss the lessons you took away from the interview: ov@myinvestmentdreams.com

Stay strong, stay blessed, and God willing, I will see you next week.

”Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about. I am compelled by God to do it. How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News! If I were doing this on my own initiative, I would deserve payment. But I have no choice, for God has given me this sacred trust.“

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬
